A new step was taken today in the distribution of Renault Z.E.’s vehicles. Europcar just pre-ordered its first 500 electric vehicles from Renault, to be made available for rental. In the meantime, Schindler selected Renault to supply its vehicle fleet, starting at the end of 2010. Start your (electric) engines!
The Renault Z.E. revolution is stronger than ever! 500 Renault electric vehicles will be delivered to Europcar’s agencies located in the largest European cities, from the 3rdquarter of 2011. Europcar has given substance to the partnership agreement signed at the recent Frankfurt International Motor Show with Renault to promote zero-emission* mobility solutions. With the addition to its fleet of the Renault Fluence Z.E. and Kangoo Z.E. models from 2011 and then of the Zoe Z.E. in 2012, Europcar will make the “zero emission” solution available to its customers. “The interaction between our network and Renault’s technology will genuinely pave the way for a major advance in mobility solutions”, stated Rafael Girona, Chief Operating Officer of Europcar Groupe.
This announcement comes right after the signature of a memorandum of understanding between Renault and Schindler, aimed at promoting zero-emission mobility*. Schindler will be part of a pilot group that will test the first Renault zero-emission vehicles by the end of this year. The test will enable Renault to better understand the upcoming customer utilization of electric fleets and to fine-tune its offering for fleet business.

By doing so, Renault proves once again how committed it is to bringing electrical vehicles to the forefront. Take a look at this footage to discover plenty of concrete info on the prototypes: how the battery works, the way it recycles energy, the cars’ release schedule, etc.
Also, make sure not to miss feedback from the journalists who had the chance to try the vehicles first hand.
