WHERE WILL I RECHARGE MY VEHICLE ?
Trials suggest that this will usually be easiest at home, overnight, through a Wall Box.
Directly at home, with the Wall Box (domestic charging terminal).
The Wall Box is an ingenious system that allows you to charge up your vehicle when at home. The process takes from six to eight hours, and can be carried out while you sleep - when electricity is at its cheapest.
Incredibly simple to use, the Wall Box can be installed in your garage by an authorised electrician. It offers complete peace of mind, as is entirely safe and protects against vandalism.
And around the world, thanks to Renault-Nissan partnerships.
Renault has signed partnerships around the world with governments, local authorities and electricity suppliers. The aim is to make Renault Z.E. electric vehicles available to as many people as possible, so that the majority of motorists can opt to go electric and create a new relationship between cars and the environment.
There are already over 300 charging points in the UK, with a further 11,000-plus planned as part of the Government’s ‘Plugged in Places’ programme. The idea is that charging points compatible with your vehicle should be readily available in public places and at work, so you’ll never be far from a recharge. For example, starting from Autumn 2010, London will also have its own system of public charge points on residential streets and car parks, supermarkets, retail and leisure centres.
To use this system, you simply pay an annual fee, then recharging is free when you use it. Other regional development areas with firm plans on public infrastructure are Milton Keynes and On North East. More will be coming on board in October 2010.
