PUTTING AN END
TO THE MYTHS
RENAULT Z.E. IN DETAIL
The Quickdrop system: a brand new battery in only three minutes.
(Available in Israel and Denmark from 2011)
• How does it work?
The system operates by exchanging the car’s battery.
• How long does it take?
Three minutes are all that is necessary to fit a new fully charged battery. The technology couldn’t be easier – as it automatically removes and replaces the battery, you don't even need to leave your vehicle.
• When can the system be used?
During journeys on main roads or motorways.
• Where will exchanges be possible?
Basically, at any battery exchange station. These stations will automatically recognise the type of car, before a robotic system opens the battery compartment to replace the empty battery with a full one. This all takes in less than three minutes and is is a very safe process.
Quickdrop: a bright idea that’s catching on.
The Renault-Nissan alliance and the Better Place company are currently working together to develop battery exchange stations. The first Quickdrop stations will be opened in Israel and Denmark in 2011.
