The first Renault Z.E. cars are now on the road and we really love reading the feedback from our customers about their new experiences. Among the pioneers driving a Renault Z.E., some are none other than… celebrities! Let’s have a closer look at some of our most famous ambassadors.
Renault Z.E. cars for Dame Ellen MacArthur & Yann Arthus Bertrand, both crafting a better world
Last November, Ellen MacArthur picked up the keys to a brand new black Renault Kangoo Z.E. for her Foundation. It’s the logical choice for the famous sailor, who is very concerned by the protection of the environment and wants to promote green awareness among future generations. By driving a Kangoo Z.E., there’s no doubt her projects will still have wind in their sails!
Then, in December, French photographer, reporter and ecologist Yann Arthus-Bertrand took delivery of a Renault Fluence Z.E. After trying it out for only one weekend, he was already praising the driving pleasure and the comfort of his new car. By driving a Renault electric car, Yann Arthus-Bertrand believes we can “meet our present needs without compromising the ability of future generation to meet theirs”
Renault Twizy never ceases to amaze us! Despite our electric urban two-seaters, both agile and safe, not quite yet being available in the showrooms, the lucky few who have had the chance to try it have already given their verdict: they simply love it. Tomer Sisley, the hero of Largo Winch, was amongst the first lucky drivers. He actually made Twizy the highlight of the famous French magazine, “Auto Moto”. Let’s watch this video, shot on the streets of Cannes’.
What about you? Which celebrity would you like to see driving a Z.E. car?
2011 has been a historic year for us. Renault Fluence Z.E. and Renault Kangoo Z.E., the first two electric vehicles for all, were officially launched. After 3 years of work, we’re extremely proud of what’s coming up in 2012. In just a few months, the Renault Z.E. family will welcome Renault Twizy and Renault ZOE, both of them are solutions to drive the future.
What are your New Year’s resolutions? Is one of them to drive electric? Here’s 5 good reasons why it should be:
Reason n°1 > Reinventing driving pleasure
Zero emission of CO2, no carcinogenic gases, no acid-producing gases. Just strong acceleration and a smooth drive all in beautiful silence. In 2012, do something for the environment while re-discovering what driving pleasure really means.
Reason n°2 > Make your daily car commutes easier
Did you know that 87% of car journeys never exceed 60km a day. That means with a Fluence ZE you’d only need to charge every couple of days, and when you do need to, you can do it easily at home. In 2012 you’ll love electric journeys without stress.
Reason n°3 > No more painful visits to the petrol station
Last time you went to the petrol station, you were this close to a nervous breakdown, weren’t you? In 2012, don’t let your money go up in smoke. You’ll love charging your car with electricity for only 2€ (while you sleep easily at night)
Reason n°4 > Take care of our planet for future generations
Choosing a zero-emission car is a commitment to sustainable mobility. This is what we believe in. In Europe, from well to wheel, Renault Fluence Z.E. pollutes 40% less than the “cleanest” hybrid car. In France, this statistic reaches 87%. In 2012, you’ll love taking care of our planet.
Reason n°5 > Pick the vehicle that fits you within a complete range of electric cars
With Renault ZOE coming up in Autumn 2012 to complete the range, you’re sure to find a Renault Z.E. made for you. In 2012, buy a car which designed to meet your needs, with your comfort in mind, and that is, of course, 100% respecting the environment.

With 104 points out of a possible 168, Kangoo Z.E., Renault’s full-electric van, has been voted International Van of the Year 2012 by a jury of 22 European journalists specializing in light commercial vehicles.
It is the first time that an electric vehicle has won this prize, competing against numerous internal-combustion vans.
The jury chose Kangoo Z.E. for its zero-emission* virtues, as well as for its practical and economical qualities. Jury chairman Pieter Wieman explained: “With the Kangoo Z.E. Renault brings the electric van within the reach of the normal European van user,” he said, “thereby delivering a major contribution to environmental sustainability, one of the most important issues of the transport of goods by road nowadays.”.
The team spirit is rewarded!
When receiving the trophy, Jean-Marie Hurtiger, director of Renault’s Light Commercial Vehicle division, explained that: “this prize rewards the work of the people at Renault who have worked for several years on the Kangoo Z.E., one of Renault’s four electric vehicles.”
The International Van of the Year is the culmination if a series of prizes rewarding Kangoo Z.E. Following Van of the Year in Denmark, voted by a jury of motoring journalists, and Fleet Transport Green Commercial in Ireland, selected by the Fleet Transport Awards jury of experts, it’s the third trophy won by Kangoo Z.E. in Europe.
